ASCRS Offers New Credit Type
ASCRS is pleased to introduce Internet Point-of-Care CME credit, designed to recognize and support physician learning that takes place in the context of clinical practice. This new offering provides ophthalmologists with an additional opportunity to earn CME credit through relevant, evidence-based educational activities that support clinical decision-making and help enhance patient care.
To earn credit, the learner identifies a clinical question arising from practice, searches an approved peer-reviewed, evidence-based resource for an answer, and documents the search and its impact on patient care using this form.
How to Claim ASCRS Internet Point-of-Care CME Credit
- Step 1: Identify the Clinical Question
Be as specific as possible; describe the specific clinical question or problem that prompted the search, including relevant patient presentation, diagnostic dilemma, treatment decision, or practice issue.
Example clinical question: “Patient with 2.5 D of corneal astigmatism and prior LASIK: is a toric IOL appropriate?” - Step 2: Select and Search an Approved Resource
Resources listed below have been selected because they are peer-reviewed or editorially reviewed, evidence-based, regularly updated, and free of commercial bias. This list is illustrative and not exhaustive; a resource not listed may be used if it meets these same criteria.
